While we continuously like to feature old insert sets highlighting some of our favorites, and other collector favorites hoping to maybe bring to light a set you may have not known about previously. In the later 90's, the insert sets really started to shine bringing some life back into a market that otherwise was pretty dull, as they introduced chrome, refractors, serial numbered cards, metal cards, die-cut cards, this is one of the sets that is highly touted by collectors till this day!

1997-98 Topps Rock Stars were inserted one in every 36 packs, while its Refractor parallel were pulled one in every 144 packs, making them quite hard to pull. The cards feature a die-cut design with the words ROCK embossed over a mountain of rocks, with "STARS" shining brightly with a star just underneath to the right. As usual, the Michael Jordan featured in this set is the high dollar value grabber, the rest of the set can be put together fairly cheap.
