Upper Deck’s Clear Cut line is back for the 2024-25 hockey season, once again built around two defining traits: autographs and acetate stock. Every card has a see-through design and nearly all of them feature on-card signatures, making each pull feel premium.
The format stays the same as past years with just one card per hobby box. That means every break is quick and simple, but the risk is high with only a single shot at something big.
The checklist starts with a base set that mirrors the look of 2024-25 Upper Deck Hockey. All are autographed and grouped into three categories: veterans, rookies, and greats from the past. Veterans average one in six packs, rookies one in four, and legends land roughly once in 75. Parallels bring extra rarity with Outburst (/25), High Gloss (/10), and Gold Outburst one-of-ones.
Canvas Signatures return at a rate of 1:13 packs. Red Ink parallels are numbered to the player’s jersey, while Gold Ink versions are one-of-ones. Canvas Rookie Debuts are the lone unsigned cards in the product, but boxes with them come with a redemption for a second card, ensuring collectors still end up with an autograph. Rookie Debut Signatures are capped at 25 copies with a single Gold Ink version for each.
New to the line are Crystalline Stars Autos, a bold design that drops 1:20 packs with additional Red (/35), Blue (/10), and Gold (1/1) parallels. Vintage Autos are also making their debut, offering a throwback look while using modern production. These average 1:16 packs, with rookies coming 1:11 and greats 1:120.
Clear Cut also taps into nostalgia with several retro-styled autograph sets, including 1997-98 Starquest, 1999-00 Ice Gallery, 2000-01 SPx Xcitement, and 2000-01 SP Authentic Power Skaters.
