Topps Finest Baseball is getting a significant makeover for 2024. The annual mid-summer release will still feature the vibrant color and chrome that collectors love, but with a new configuration and an expanded base set.

Configuration Update

Topps is abandoning the two mini-boxes per Hobby box format and switching to six standard packs of ten cards each. Despite this format change, the total card count remains unchanged, and each box will continue to include two autographs. Cases will now hold eight boxes.

Expanded Base Set

The base set is expanding from 125 cards to a robust 300 cards. This new set is divided into three tiers:

  • Common Cards: The first 100 cards, which are easier to find.
  • Uncommon Cards: The next 100 cards, with one appearing in each pack.
  • Rare Cards: The final 100 cards, with typically two found in each box.
Mike Trout headlines the checklist as card #1, and the expanded set includes a mix of impactful rookies and less notable players. Some players will have cards across all three tiers, offering a range of options for collectors. Over a dozen parallels will be featured across each tier, adding to the excitement.

Insert Sets

The 2024 Topps Finest will boast a variety of insert sets, including:

  • Finest Rookie Design Variations
  • Future So Bright
  • What If 1993 Finest Prototypes
  • Fiesta (highlighting Latin American players)
  • Finest Timelines (showcasing all-time greats like Lou Gehrig, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, and Sandy Koufax)
  • Diamond Finest
  • Let’s Go
  • Arrivals (focusing on rookies)
  • Finest First Die-Cuts (featuring more rookies)

Autographs

Collectors can look forward to numerous autograph possibilities, with signatures appearing on base cards and various subsets, including:

  • Rookie Design Variations
  • Finest Moments
  • 1993 Finest Prototypes
  • Future So Bright
  • Finest First Die-Cuts (featuring a small checklist of rookies)
Topps offered a pre-sale for the new boxes at $249.99 each, giving collectors an early opportunity to secure their boxes.

The 2024 Topps Finest Baseball promises an exciting and revamped experience for collectors, with a larger base set, more variety, and the same high-quality cards that fans have come to expect.
