2025–26 SPx Hockey keeps the holographic glow and adds a deeper modern chase

SPx is back to its 1990s roots with shiny, holographic finishes and a checklist that rewards both nostalgia and low-numbered hunts. Hobby boxes carry eight packs with three cards per pack and several numbered guarantees, so every rip has a real chance to reveal something that pops.

The base set runs 165 cards, split into veterans numbered 1 through 100, rookies 101 through 150, and rookie holograms 151 through 165. You can expect four base rookies in every box, while rookie holograms land at roughly two per case. Parallels cover the first 150 cards with Silver three per box, Gold one per box, then serials that climb down through Resonance to 150, Radiance to 100, Grand Finale to 50, Silver Spectrum to 25, and Gold Spectrum one of one. Rookie holograms bring Blue to 25, Red to 10, and Gold one of one. Select base rookies also have autograph parallels, with Blue at varied numbering, Red to 25, Gold to 10, and Black one of one.

Autographs are not guaranteed in every box, which keeps the hits exciting when they show. Two new concepts debut this season, Typography at 1 in 240 packs and Cold Steel Signatures at 1 in 270. Favorites return with Rookie Superscripts at 1 in 120 and Superscripts at 1 in 160. Ink also threads through insert lines as parallel versions, including Bound for Glory, Break the Mold, Finite Vets, High Efficiency, Holo’d Hardware, and SPx Force, plus limited autos like Finite Rookies to 99, SPx Rookie Force to 99, Salute to 25, and All-Time Holoview to 10.

Finite is the anchor insert for both veterans and rookies, all numbered to 999. The rainbow is long and satisfying to build, with Bronze to 599, Silver to 399, Gold to 299, Emerald Green to 199, Purple to 99, Amber to 49, Tuxedo to 25, Magenta to 15, Silver Spectrum to 10, Platinum Blue to 5, and Gold Spectrum one of one. Holoview F X brings back the die-cut look on separate rookie and veteran checklists, landing about 1 in 7 packs for rookies and 1 in 10 for vets, with Blue parallels to 199 for rookies and 149 for vets, and Gold to 25 for both.

There is a deep bench of additional inserts with their own parallel ladders. SPx Game Film is about 1 in 14 packs and adds Blue to 99 and Gold to 25. 34.5 LBs, a debut die-cut that salutes the weight of the Stanley Cup, lands 1 in 14 with Blue to 49 and Gold to 25. Excellence Defined shows at 1 in 20 with Blue to 49 and Gold to 25, and SPx Debut Night Game Film also at 1 in 20 with Blue to 149 and Gold to 25. Longer odds chase cards include All-Time Holoview at 1 in 40, Bound For Glory at 1 in 160, High Efficiency at 1 in 200, Break the Mold at 1 in 267, Holo’d Hardware at 1 in 267, SPx Force at 1 in 267, then two ultra-tough pulls in Salute and SPx Rookie Force at 1 in 800.

For planning, hobby boxes deliver three cards per pack, eight packs per box, and 20 boxes per case split into two 10-box inners. A typical box yields two Finite cards, four PETG or hologram inserts, one Gold parallel, three Silver parallels, four base rookies, and one additional numbered insert or parallel. Release timing is to be announced, and the final checklist will arrive closer to launch.
