Donruss WNBA Basketball is back for the first time since 2019, and Panini is making the comeback count by adding one of its most popular inserts across all sports. The Downtown series, introduced in football in 2018 and now a collector favorite in basketball and baseball, will finally spotlight WNBA stars for the very first time. With names like Caitlin Clark expected to headline, the chase is already generating buzz among collectors.
Each hobby box includes 12 packs of 8 cards, averaging three autographs or memorabilia cards plus 24 inserts or parallels. Mega boxes come with 15 packs of 10 cards, delivering one autograph or memorabilia hit and 20 inserts or parallels. The base checklist runs 100 cards and features the signature Rated Rookies subset. Every base card also has a Jersey version, with parallels that top out at a Prime /25 edition. A full breakdown of parallels has not yet been announced, but Donruss tradition points toward a colorful and varied rainbow.
Beyond Downtown, the insert lineup is deep and diverse:

  • Tunnel Vision captures the off-court fashion moments of players as they enter the arena.
  • Mascots introduces team mascots into the mix.
  • Courtside highlights sweeping in-game photography.
  • Franchise Features puts a spotlight on cornerstone players for each team.
Panini is also giving collectors a nostalgic nod with the 1997 Pinnacle Retro insert, honoring the WNBA’s first trading cards from the league’s debut season. While the original Pinnacle Inside cards famously came packed in cans, this modern tribute sticks to a more traditional format while keeping the classic look.
Autograph content includes Private Signings along with the rookie-focused Next Day On-Card Autographs, giving fans a mix of established talent and up-and-coming stars.
Here’s a quick overview:
  • Hobby Box: 12 packs, 8 cards each; 16 boxes per case.
    • 3 autographs or memorabilia cards.
    • 24 inserts or parallels.
  • Mega Box: 15 packs, 10 cards each.
    • 1 autograph or memorabilia card.
    • 20 inserts or parallels.
  • Total set size: 100 cards.
  • Release date: October 16, 2025 (subject to change).
With the combination of Rated Rookies, multiple insert themes, autographs, and the first-ever WNBA Downtown cards, 2025 Donruss WNBA is shaping up to be one of the most exciting women’s basketball releases in years. Collectors who have been waiting since 2019 for Donruss to return to the league will find plenty to chase when it hits shelves this fall.
