Baseball season is here, and so is the buzz around the quirky Big Head Variation cards from the 2025 Topps Baseball Series 1 release. These amusing, oversized caricatures are turning heads—and wallets—on the collector’s market.

With a roster loaded with stars like Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, Elly De La Cruz, Bobby Witt Jr., and rising rookies Dylan Crews and James Wood, it's easy to see why these cards are in high demand.

Already, the Mike Trout Big Head Variation, limited to just 50 copies, has fetched an impressive $1,000, according to recent sales data from Card Ladder.

Shohei Ohtani, always a hot name in collectibles, leads the way with five of the top ten Big Head sales so far, fetching between $760 and $950. The highest sale for an Ohtani card, numbered out of just 25, sits firmly at the top end of that range.

Not far behind, Yankees powerhouse Aaron Judge has also made a splash, with his card selling for $609 by the end of March, highlighting his continued appeal.

Paul Skenes’ card, which prominently features his All-Star Rookie Cup, also captured attention. Two sales of his numbered-to-50 variation saw the price leap from $525 to $808 within a day.

A rare Bobby Witt Jr. card numbered out of just five quickly sold for $800, reinforcing the appeal of limited-print collectibles.

In total, collectors snatched up 51 Big Head Variation cards within the first week of release, priced anywhere from a wallet-friendly $45 for Dylan Crews up to the premium $1,000 Trout card. Clearly, collectors are going big—and loving every minute.
