Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. combined his love of baseball with a creative twist to invite teammates to be part of his wedding. Teammate MJ Melendez was among those invited and revealed his special card in a video shared by card shop Pullwax on October 29. The card, encased in a PSA 10 slab, was labeled as a “Topps Bobby Witt Jr. Groomsman Card” and featured a photo of Witt and Melendez celebrating during a 2022 game. The certification number indicated the card was part of a population of only two, making it a rare keepsake.

A Message with Heart​

The back of the card included a heartfelt note from Witt:

“I couldn’t think of a better way to send groomsman invitations than by using custom baseball cards. It would be an honor for you to be by my side on my wedding day. It wouldn’t feel right without you there. Consider this the official invite!
