The sports card world is electrified as a 1/1 Shohei Ohtani Superfractor autograph card has been pulled from the highly anticipated "2024 Topps 50/50: Shohei Ohtani" product. Created to celebrate Ohtani's unprecedented 50-home-run, 50-stolen-base season—the first in MLB history—this card has quickly become the centerpiece of discussions among collectors.

Released earlier this year, the exclusive Topps 50/50 set sold out almost immediately. Packs were available on Topps’ website for $25 each or $239.99 for a 10-pack box. Each box offered collectors five cards per pack across ten packs, with the promise of one Chrome Parallel or Short Print per box. The real treasure was the chance to pull rare autographs, relics, auto-relics, and six coveted 1/1 autographed Superfractors.

One of these rare cards has now been pulled by Omar, known as @eastcoastflipper on Instagram. Omar’s card commemorates Ohtani’s August 3rd game, where he stole three bases. His ecstatic reaction to pulling the card was caught on video, which quickly went viral—garnering over 104,000 views on his Instagram and an additional 575,000 views when Topps shared it on their own social media accounts.

“For me, this is the biggest card I’ve ever pulled and one of the greatest moments of my life,” Omar said.
A lifelong collector, Omar rediscovered his passion for the hobby during the 2020 pandemic. Since then, he has turned his enthusiasm into a thriving business, specializing in grading and selling cards for profit. While he hasn’t made an official decision about the card’s future, Goldin Auctions, a leader in high-value collectibles, recently began following his account—sparking speculation about a potential blockbuster auction.

The Topps 50/50 set was designed to highlight Shohei Ohtani’s extraordinary career and monumental season, and this Superfractor is a prime example of the set’s significance. As Ohtani continues to dominate both on the field and in the hobby, this pull has become a true collector’s dream. Fans and collectors alike are eagerly watching to see what comes next for this one-of-a-kind treasure.
