Collectors didn’t have to wait long for the biggest hit from 2024-25 Bowman Chrome University Basketball to be pulled. Just a week after release, the most coveted card in the set—the Cooper Flagg one-of-one Superfractor autograph—was hit during a personal case break at Score More Sports, a local card shop based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

As one of the most hyped players in recent memory, Flagg has had hobbyists buzzing since well before his first college tip-off. Now that his freshman campaign at Duke has resulted in a Final Four appearance and a National Player of the Year award, the demand for his cards has only escalated. This particular card marks Flagg’s first fully licensed autograph in a Duke uniform and carries the kind of weight that could make it a centerpiece for any modern basketball collection.

A Case Hit That Stole the Show

The collector who pulled the card was opening a personal case—an entire sealed case purchased outright—and found what many consider the grail of the product. The Flagg Superfractor autograph, limited to just a single copy worldwide, features Bowman Chrome’s signature gold swirl refractor finish paired with Flagg’s on-card signature. But it didn’t stop there. He also added a custom inscription: “From the 207,” a nod to his Maine roots.

That inscription offers more than just a personal touch—it adds story and meaning to an already iconic card. Flagg’s journey began at Nokomis Regional High School in Newport, Maine, where he became the first freshman ever to win the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year award. He later led Nokomis to a state championship before transferring to Montverde Academy, setting the stage for his meteoric rise.

Value? It’s Anyone’s Guess

Determining a price on a card like this is difficult. With no comparable sales and only one copy in existence, the value is ultimately set by what a buyer is willing to pay. That said, there’s some precedent. Flagg’s 2024 Topps Chrome McDonald's All-American Superfractor autograph—also a one-of-one—sold for $84,500 through Goldin. That was before Flagg’s Duke accolades, and it didn’t feature him in a college uniform.

Given the growing hype around Flagg and the prestige of a Duke-branded first autograph, it’s not unreasonable to think this card could fetch even more if it were put up for sale.

A Local Pull, A National Moment

Score More Sports joins an elite group of local card shops that have seen headline-making pulls within their walls. For the collector, it’s a story they’ll be telling for life. For the hobby, it’s a reminder that these once-in-a-lifetime hits don’t always come from group breaks or big retailers—they sometimes happen in hometown shops with one lucky box.

With Flagg projected to go first overall in the 2025 NBA Draft and already cementing his legacy at Duke, this card’s significance will only grow. Whether it ends up in a high-end private collection or hits the auction block later this year, one thing is certain: the hobby just witnessed one of the defining pulls of 2024.
