The National Hockey League (NHL) and Fanatics, the NHL's official outfitter, have unveiled the highly anticipated uniforms for the Discover NHL Winter Classic®, set to take place outdoors at Wrigley Field on December 31. The matchup will feature the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues sporting jerseys designed with unique details, including city-inspired elements in the necklines and helmets, as well as the "NHL Winter Classic" marking on the bottom hem.

Chicago Blackhawks Uniform: A Tribute to Heritage and Tradition

The Blackhawks' Winter Classic uniform blends the team's storied past with innovative design elements. The jersey showcases a lace-neck collar, evoking the early days of hockey, paired with a vintage cream color that reflects the nostalgia of the Original Six era. Distinctive touches include stars from the Chicago flag embedded in the front crest and subtle pinstripes in the back numbers, paying homage to Chicago’s rich baseball history. This combination creates a design that celebrates the Blackhawks’ legacy while honoring the city’s broader sporting culture.

St. Louis Blues Uniform: A Celebration of Hockey History

The Blues’ Winter Classic jersey draws inspiration from the city’s hockey heritage. For the first time in franchise history, the primary wordmark on the chest replaces the iconic Blue Note, a bold nod to a 1966 prototype uniform that was never worn. The jersey also features a newly created vintage-style “Blue Note” on the shoulder. Adding to the design’s uniqueness, fleur-de-lis motifs are integrated into the inside back neck and hem loop labels, a tribute to the city of St. Louis.

Where to Find the Jerseys and Merchandise

The jerseys are now available for purchase through the Fanatics network, including NHLShop.com and NHLShop.ca, as well as the Blues and Blackhawks official team stores and the NHL Shop NYC flagship location. Fans can also shop additional Winter Classic merchandise, such as winter hats, outerwear, and more, with new items launching as the event approaches.
