Leaf is revisiting its storytelling roots with the 2025 History Book Sports Edition Chapter 2, a sequel that reads like a love letter to the legends of every sport. After nearly two years of anticipation, this release finally arrives and immediately proves the wait was worth it. Each hobby box contains two cards, but both are booklets filled with autographs, memorabilia, or a mix of both. There are no fillers, no base cards, just full-blown pieces of sports history crafted for serious collectors.

The checklist bridges generations, mixing the giants of the past with the stars of today. Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Roberto Clemente headline the baseball icons. Vince Lombardi brings his football legacy, while Pelé represents global greatness. Every page is designed to tell a story, and every booklet feels like a time capsule.

Leaf didn’t just recycle concepts from Chapter 1. It created new ones that add more personality and flair. The Next Chapter cards feature autographs and photos of players across different teams from their careers, almost like flipping through a player’s scrapbook. Autobiography returns, pairing a signature with a short write-up of a player’s journey. The all-new Art Book collection adds creativity to the mix, merging autographs with stylish designs that feel more like museum pieces than trading cards. Dual-signed Match Books are back, and the Book of Generations set brings together three legends from different eras on one piece. Eight-signature layouts headline both the Black Book and Book Club Autographs series, while the Dominant Dozen pushes things to the extreme with twelve autographs on a single booklet.

Collectors who chase relics will have plenty to look forward to. Spinning Yarns centers on one athlete with multiple memorabilia swatches and an autograph. Double Booked combines two players with both signatures and relics. Sets like Get Your Program Here offer eight memorabilia pieces, Famous Fabrics includes nine, and Aces in My Book along with Pages in History go up to ten. The grand showcase comes with Book Club Memorabilia, Book of Honor, Book of Legends, and Power Memorabilia, each holding twelve relics that celebrate the most iconic figures in sports.

Each ten-box case should yield five to six multi-signed booklets and around three total signatures from a stacked roster that includes Aaron Judge, Patrick Mahomes, Bobby Witt Jr., Charles Barkley, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Conor McGregor, Lionel Messi, Peyton Manning, Stephen Curry, Paul Skenes, Nolan Ryan, Bo Jackson, Larry Bird, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Bob Cousy, and Barry Sanders. The official release date is October 22, 2025, and this set already feels like one of the most ambitious releases of the year.

Aces in My Book highlights pitching royalty like Seaver, Ryan, Carlton, and Maddux. Art Book celebrates creativity, with autographs from Aaron Judge, Allen Iverson, Olivia Dunne, and Trinity Rodman. Autobiography takes a more personal tone, featuring names such as Alex Morgan, Lionel Messi, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Yao Ming. Black Book showcases star-studded basketball rosters, from Magic Johnson and Larry Bird to Giannis and Ja Morant, while Book Club pairs iconic teammates and rivals across generations. Double Booked mixes unexpected duos such as Mahomes with Messi or Sanders with Bo Jackson. Famous Fabrics reads like a hall of fame lineup with Ruth, Mays, Mantle, and Aaron on one card and Kobe, LeBron, and Shaq sharing another.

Match Book is the head-to-head series, bringing faceoffs like Tyson versus Lewis, Barkley versus Rodman, and Messi versus Zidane. Power Book pays tribute to the most dominant sluggers ever, featuring Ruth, Aaron, Mays, and Griffey Jr. Spinning Yarns adds a storytelling touch with signatures and jersey pieces from stars like Sanders, Giannis, and Peyton Manning. The Book of Generations honors lineage, connecting players like Pelé to Messi to Yamal. The Book of Honors groups entire eras of greatness, from Ruth and Gehrig to LeBron and Kobe. The Book of Legends brings together every sport’s most famous figures in one masterpiece. The Dominant Dozen turns that idea up another notch, with twelve autographs that span eras and disciplines on one massive card. The Next Chapter celebrates career evolution with players such as Barkley, Montana, Ichiro, and Hulk Hogan, while The Pages of History ties it all together with decade-spanning combinations of heroes who defined their times.

Parallels come in several forms, including Bronze, Purple, Blue, Green, Red, and various Foil versions. Production numbers vary, and serious collectors can dive into the downloadable Excel checklist for the full breakdown. Each pack contains two booklet cards, one pack per box, and ten boxes per case. With Chapter 2, Leaf has taken the idea of storytelling through cardboard and made it feel like an art form. Every pull feels deliberate, every design looks like it belongs in a museum, and every signature tells a story worth passing down. This isn’t just a product release; it’s Leaf’s reminder that sports history can be bound, inked, and collected, one chapter at a time.
