The Dallas Wings knew they had a franchise player when they drafted Paige Bueckers first overall in 2025, but she has exceeded even the highest expectations. The rookie guard has quickly become one of the league’s most talked about players, bringing both excitement on the floor and attention from collectors.
Through her first season, Bueckers is averaging 19.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.7 steals a night. She earned a spot in her first WNBA All-Star Game in July and is already one of the front-runners for Rookie of the Year.
Her defining moment so far came against the Los Angeles Sparks, when she dropped 44 points on 17-of-21 shooting. She was perfect from deep and at the line, hitting all four of her three-point attempts and all six free throws. The outburst tied Cynthia Cooper’s rookie scoring mark from 1997 and set a new season-high across the WNBA. Fans in Los Angeles could tell they were watching history as she racked up 16 by halftime.
The scoring run has only added to her consistency. She has now logged 29 consecutive games in double figures, closing in on A’ja Wilson’s rookie record of 33. Earlier in the season, she put up 35 against the Phoenix Mercury on June 11, knocking down five threes in the process. Even in a recent loss to the Sparks, she managed 29 points.
Collectors have taken notice. WNBA cards are already performing well on the market, with stars like Wilson, Sabrina Ionescu, and Sophie Cunningham gaining traction, but Bueckers has been the headline name.
Her 2023-24 Bowman’s Best University Buckets Die Cuts Autograph out of 50 recently sold for $629.99. A Bowman Chrome University Aqua Refractor /299 graded PSA 9 brought in just under $100. The biggest splash came on August 20, when her Bowman’s Best University Greatness Awaits Gold Geometric Refractor Autograph sold for $1,350.
