Panini Expands Its Roster with Prominent High School Hoops Talents Amidst Caitlin Clark Agreement Transition

In a strategic move coinciding with Caitlin Clark’s trading card rights migrating from Fanatics/Topps to Panini America, Panini has unveiled its latest signings. The company has secured exclusive trading card and memorabilia contracts with six of the most sought-after high school basketball recruits, demonstrating Panini's foresight in embracing the burgeoning NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) market, which permits young athletes in specific states to earn from endorsements.

The freshly signed talents, who are making waves in the high school basketball scene and have committed to prestigious collegiate programs, include:

  • Carter Bryant, who will be playing for the University of Arizona
  • Zoom Diallo, set to join the University of Washington
  • VJ Edgecombe, committed to Baylor University
  • Ian Jackson, heading to the University of North Carolina
  • Tahaad Pettiford, joining Auburn University
  • Jayden Quaintance, committed to the University of Kentucky
These signings come on the heels of Panini's earlier acquisition of Tre Johnson, another class of 2024 basketball luminary, who has pledged to the University of Texas, underscoring Panini's ambition to align with basketball's future luminaries.

The announcement arrives amidst Caitlin Clark’s spotlight moment, having dazzled with a 41-point game in the NCAA Women’s Tournament, and shortly after her exclusive signing with Panini. While Panini has yet to launch new trading cards under Clark's new contract, the anticipation builds, with a spokesperson indicating such releases are on the near horizon. Remarkably, Clark's autographed memorabilia under Panini has already seen a sell-out, reflecting the high demand and excitement surrounding her and Panini's collaboration.
