An impressive collection of pre-war baseball tobacco and gum cards, along with vintage comics and other collectibles, will soon be auctioned off by Paul McInnis Auctioneer in North Hampton, NH. This significant event is designed to support the University of New Hampshire Scholarship Fund, with all proceeds going to help fund higher education for students. The collection, amassed by the late Harry W. O'Brien of Manchester, NH, includes a diverse array of memorabilia that his father, Daniel, began collecting during his service in both World Wars.

The auction features notable items such as 300 T206 cards showcasing 48 Hall of Famers, including Christie Mathewson and Cy Young, a complete set of 1911 T201 Mecca Folders, and 80 Goudey cards from the 1930s with highlights like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Additionally, the collection offers a variety of Philadelphia Caramels cards, 19 4-in-1 Exhibit cards featuring Ruth and Gehrig, and numerous other cards from the rare 1930s George C Miller issue.

This collection also contains 1910 T218 Mecca boxing cards featuring legendary heavyweight Jack Johnson, as well as a rich assortment of vintage non-sports cards. The majority of these cards have been professionally graded by SGC, and they will be auctioned individually or in lots.

Paul McInnis noted the unique appeal of this auction, emphasizing the rarity, age, and pristine condition of these items, many of which will be sold for the first time. The auction also includes high-grade 1940s comics featuring Superman and Batman, which are expected to attract significant interest.

Furthermore, collectors will have the opportunity to bid on rare ticket stubs from historical events, including the inaugural game at Fenway Park in 1912. With over 500 lots on offer, the auction promises a wealth of opportunities for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
