Disney fans and card collectors alike are in for a treat this week as Topps rolls out a special 72-hour trading card release tied to the upcoming live-action Lilo & Stitch remake. Known for their timed collectible drops, Topps is putting Stitch front and center in a new set that pays homage to the chaotic alien’s long history of crashing the party — literally.

The drop kicks off May 22 at 2 PM ET and will run exclusively on Topps Now for exactly three days. Fans can purchase individual cards for $16, with bulk options that bring the price down to $10 per card in a 20-pack bundle. The base card features the film’s theatrical poster, while the real draw comes in the form of four chase variants that blend the new movie with old-school Disney magic.

Each of the four limited-edition chase cards features Stitch invading classic Disney scenes — from Snow White and Cinderella to Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. It’s a playful callback to Disney’s early 2000s marketing campaign for the original animated film, where Stitch humorously inserted himself into other Disney stories. The cards will also be serial-numbered in highly collectible tiers, ranging from /99 all the way down to a single 1-of-1.

This release continues Topps’ ongoing collaboration with Disney, which has included similar short-run sets for characters across the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars universes. Recent months have seen cards featuring everyone from Mickey Mouse to Darth Vader — but Stitch brings a different kind of energy.

More than just a marketing gimmick, Stitch has always been a bit of a wildcard in the Disney lineup. Over the years, he’s crossed over into various franchises and shows, including Kim Possible, The Proud Family, and American Dragon: Jake Long. His image is a staple in Disney theme parks and merchandise worldwide, cementing his place as one of the company’s most bankable (and mischievous) characters.

The timing of the drop coincides with the theatrical release of the Lilo & Stitch remake, which hits theaters during Memorial Day weekend. The film is shaping up to be a potential hit for Disney — a studio eager for a critical and commercial win after a rocky stretch of live-action adaptations. With a cast that includes Zach Galifianakis, Courtney B. Vance, Hannah Waddingham, and Tia Carrere, the film hopes to capture the same heart and humor that made the original a fan favorite.

And while Stitch might be taking on box office heavyweights like Mission: Impossible in theaters, his Topps appearance gives fans a collectible they can hold onto — one that bridges generations of Disney fans.

Whether you’re a long-time collector, a Disney die-hard, or just looking to add something playful to your stash, this limited-time release is worth checking out. But act fast — once the 72 hours are up, Stitch disappears again… at least until he crashes the next franchise.
