Topps, a division of Fanatics Collectibles, announced today a significant expansion of its partnership with Disney Consumer Products. The new agreement grants Topps global rights to produce both physical and digital trading cards featuring iconic characters and stories from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel. This marks the first time Topps will develop and distribute physical Marvel trading cards on a worldwide scale.

The expanded deal also continues Topps' long-standing collaboration with the Star Wars franchise, a relationship that began in 1977 and has captivated collectors for decades.

First Marvel Trading Cards to Launch Globally

Under the new agreement, Topps is set to release its inaugural global Marvel trading card product in the first quarter of 2025 with Topps Finest X-Men '97. This release coincides with renewed interest in the X-Men series and represents a milestone for both Topps and Marvel enthusiasts around the world.

Broadening Physical and Digital Offerings

The partnership encompasses a wide range of trading cards for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars properties. While Topps has previously offered digital collectibles through the Disney Collect! and Marvel Collect! apps, this agreement significantly expands their physical product lineup, especially in the United States.

Topps has a history of selling Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars trading cards in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) via their website and at regional fan conventions. The new deal extends these offerings globally, allowing fans everywhere to engage with their favorite characters in new and exciting ways.

Executive Insights

"Topps has been a long-standing collaborator with Disney Consumer Products, driving innovation in both physical and digital trading cards," said Paul Gitter, Executive Vice President of Global Brand Commercialization at Disney Consumer Products. "We're thrilled to officially expand our relationship with Topps to bring storytelling from across our brands to card-collecting enthusiasts worldwide."

David Leiner, President of Trading Cards at Fanatics Collectibles, expressed enthusiasm about the enhanced collaboration. A Legacy of Storytelling and Collecting
