topps-appreciation.png

Topps is putting a spotlight on the people who keep the hobby humming. Collector Appreciation Day lands on September 20, and the idea is simple. Bring a trading card, show it at participating partners, and unlock small thank yous. Some perks are national. Others are tied to specific teams or locations. It’s low effort, very hobby friendly, and a good excuse to get out of the house with a card in your pocket.

How the day works

Bring any trading card you don’t mind handling a few times. Most retail offers accept any card. Team activations ask for a Topps card tied to that team. Show your card at checkout or at the promo table. Items are almost always while supplies last, so earlier is better. Expect one per person and local store rules to apply.

Where to find the special WinCraft pin

Collector’s Clubhouse sites will have an exclusive WinCraft pin. These locations are listed as participating:

Ross Park, Pennsylvania
Baybrook, Texas
Minnetonka, Minnesota
Tulsa, Oklahoma
Prudential Center, Massachusetts

Retail and hobby partner offers

DICK’S Sporting Goods
10 dollars off a purchase of 50 dollars or more. Good at all stores. Show a trading card at checkout.

Fanatics
Buy one, get one 50 percent off on Fanatics card supplies. A clean way to restock sleeves, top loaders, team bags, or a fresh storage box.

PSA
Rip and Submit activations with free penny sleeves and loaders. Handy if you plan to open packs and send in hits the same day.

Select hobby buys with a bonus
20 dollar gift card when you purchase one of the following where offered:
2025 Topps Marvel Heroes 1975
2025 Star Wars Chrome Hobby Box
2025 Marvel Chrome Hobby Box
2025 GPK 40th Anniversary Hobby Box

Exclusive hat pin
First 150 fans who bring a Topps baseball card to participating stores receive a special hat pin. Call ahead if you want to confirm stock before you drive.

Lids, Locker Room, and Lids 3.0
25 percent off the entire store for anyone who brings a Topps trading card. Valid at locations in the United States and Canada, including Locker Rooms and Lids 3.0 formats. Standard brand exclusions may apply at the register.

Ballpark and team activations

New York Mets Block Party
First 500 fans who show a Topps Mets card at the pregame Block Party receive a free hot dog voucher.

Baltimore Orioles
First 500 fans who bring a Topps Orioles card to the Bullpen Picnic Area in center field receive a 15 dollar concession voucher.

Cincinnati Reds
First 500 fans who bring a Topps Reds card receive a mystery promotional item at the designated table.

Plan your route like a pro

Pick your goal for the day
Pins, vouchers, or discounts. Start with the item most likely to sell out. Clubhouse pins and ballpark promos usually go first.

Sort your cards in advance
Carry two or three cards you can hand over quickly. Put team specific Topps cards for Mets, Orioles, or Reds in separate soft sleeves so you’re not fumbling in line.

Build a simple schedule
Morning: hit a Collector’s Clubhouse for the WinCraft pin.
Midday: DICK’S and Fanatics for supplies and the discount.
Afternoon: PSA Rip and Submit if your local spot is hosting.
Evening: ballpark activation if you’re catching a game.

Travel light but prepared
A slim card wallet, a couple of fresh sleeves, and a small top loader bundle cover most needs. If you plan to buy supplies, bring a tote or backpack.

Ask about the fine print before you line up
Some stores have brand exclusions, loyalty requirements, or one item limits. A thirty second question can save a long wait.

Bring a new collector
This is a great starter day for kids or friends. Let them pick a pack, teach them how to sleeve a card, and show them how grading submissions work at a PSA table if one is nearby.

FAQ style notes

Do I need a specific year or player
For retail offers, usually no. For team activations, yes. Bring a Topps card of that team. Condition doesn’t matter.

How many offers can I claim
Most locations limit one per person. If you plan to visit multiple partners, you can typically redeem once at each.

What if my store doesn’t know about the promo
Show this write up and politely ask a manager. Some staff may be catching details the same morning. If a location isn’t participating, thank them and move on to the next stop.

Can I bring a non Topps card
Retail partners often accept any trading card. Team activations specify Topps and the correct team. When in doubt, carry Topps.

What to bring

A Topps card or two
A small card case or sleeve bundle
ID and a payment card for purchases
Comfortable shoes if you plan to make multiple stops
A friend who’s been curious about the hobby

Everything is while supplies last. Participation can vary by location and staff have the final say on eligibility. If a line is long, treat it like a mini card show. Trade a base duplicate with the person next to you, compare checklists, and enjoy the day.
