Witt Jr. and Caglianone Drop Hilarious Notes on Bowman Chrome Dual Autos

Leave it to Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. and rookie slugger Jac Caglianone to shake things up in the trading card world. Forget the standard “best wishes” or barely-legible autographs—these two decided their dual-signed Bowman Chrome cards needed a heavy dose of humor.

Topps recently revealed six autographed cards from the Royals duo, each one packed with entertaining messages between the teammates. Caglianone jokingly wrote to Witt, “If I pull your card, you owe me this one,” proving once and for all that even MLB stars can't resist the card-collecting hustle. Witt responded by playfully asking Caglianone for his workout secrets—after all, Caglianone has a solid five inches and 50 pounds on him.

On another card, Caglianone confidently claimed, “This is gonna be in a museum one day… or eBay,” to which Witt fired back, “Also gonna be in my hands.” Clearly, Witt isn't giving these away without a fight (or at least a bidding war).

The super-rare Superfractor card even featured heartfelt congratulations from Witt to Caglianone on his recent engagement and from Caglianone to Witt on getting hitched. Who knew baseball cards could double as greeting cards?

It’s no surprise these inscriptions are popping up more often, given the rising number of big leaguers joining the collecting ranks themselves. Caglianone famously signed his first-ever Bowman card with the note, “My 1st Bowman auto,” and even paused an apartment search in Kansas City to snag some packs shortly after being called up.

Witt takes things to another level—he used fake baseball cards as wedding invitations and openly admits he bids on his own rookie cards on eBay using an alias. He even buys one of his rookie cards after every home run he hits, which is either brilliant investment strategy or the greatest superstition ever.

What do you think—is this the future of autographed cards? Let us know below!
