SP is Upper Deck’s quiet retail grinder. It is not built to flood you with autos, it is built to give set builders a clean checklist, rookies with real numbering, and a few tough chases that feel earned over time. The 2025-26 release sticks to that plan with eight pack blasters, a Blue parallel in every pack, and one Authentic Profiles Blue per box. Ink and relics are possible, but they are long odds, which keeps patience in the driver’s seat.
What a blaster looks like
- 8 packs per box, 5 cards per pack
- 1 Blue parallel in every pack
- 1 Authentic Profiles Blue insert in every box
- Autographs and relics are possible, but think multi box or multi case horizon rather than box level guarantees
- 140 total cards
- 100 veterans, 40 Rookie Authentics
- Every Rookie Authentics card is serial numbered to 1399
- The Blue parallel covers the full run, both veterans and rookies, which makes Blue team sets a satisfying project you can actually finish
Upper Deck adds a tidy ladder on top of the rookie base and Blue:
- Patterned Foilboard, 1 in 48 packs
- Gold Patterned Foilboard, 1 in 200 packs
- Red, numbered to 99
- Green, numbered to 25
- Black, 1 of 1
Authentic Profiles insert for star power
Authentic Profiles is the veteran forward insert line, each card numbered to 1399. It has its own parallel map.
- Blue, 1 in 5 packs
- Patterned Foilboard, 1 in 192 packs
- Gold Patterned Foilboard, 1 in 800 packs
- Red, numbered to 49
- Green, numbered to 10
- Black, 1 of 1
Autographs and how rare they really are
SP saves signatures for true surprises.
- Rookie Autographs, 1 in 480 packs, plus a Gold version numbered to 25
- Authentic Profiles Autographs, 1 in 2880 packs
- Authentic Signatures, a horizontal standalone auto set, 1 in 1600 packs
Relics for two card families
- Rookie Authentics memorabilia, 1 in 40 packs
- Authentic Profiles memorabilia, 1 in 640 packs, noted as game worn pieces, a nice touch in a retail lane
You are looking at 40 cards total. With one Blue in every pack, you will stack 8 Blues per box, plus the one Authentic Profiles Blue. Rookies at 40 of 140 cards means a noticeable but not overwhelming presence in base and Blue across a few boxes. Patterned Foilboard rookies fall roughly once every six blasters on average, so do not expect one in every box.
Case math to keep your expectations realistic
A blaster case is 20 boxes, which equals 160 packs.
- Rookie Authentics Patterned Foilboard, 1 in 48 packs, about 3 to 4 per case
- Rookie Authentics Gold Patterned, 1 in 200 packs, about 0.8 per case
- Authentic Profiles Patterned, 1 in 192 packs, about 0.8 per case
- Authentic Profiles Gold Patterned, 1 in 800 packs, about 0.2 per case
- Rookie Autographs, 1 in 480 packs, about one every 3 cases
- Authentic Signatures, 1 in 1600 packs, about one every 10 cases
- Authentic Profiles Autographs, 1 in 2880 packs, about one every 18 cases
- Rookie Authentics memorabilia, 1 in 40 packs, about 4 per case
- Authentic Profiles memorabilia, 1 in 640 packs, about one every 4 cases
- Blue team set plan, finish a roster quickly, then trade extras for the last few numbers
- Two rookies, three tiers, go base to 1399, Blue, and one numbered color, it fills a nine pocket row nicely without chasing everything
- Patterned project, one Rookie Authentics Patterned Foilboard from every team, at 1 in 48 packs it is challenging but doable by trading and show hunting
- Star page plan for Authentic Profiles, build a row of your favorite players at 1399, then add a Blue and one numbered color beside each name
Keep two rows in your box, one for veterans and one for Rookie Authentics. File Blues behind their base counterpart to make team sets and swap lists painless. For Profiles, store the Blue behind the numbered copy, that way your best version sits up front when you flip through the stack.
Condition checklist before you sleeve
Patterned Foilboard and darker blues can hide faint roller lines and tiny dimples. Tilt cards under bright light. Centering checks are easier if you use the nameplate or border accents as your guide rather than the photo alone. For numbered cards, verify the stamp is straight and clean. Use fresh soft sleeves, then top loaders or semi rigids right away for anything numbered.
