Topps Returns to the Premier League in 2025-26 With a Full-Scale Card Revival

The Premier League is back in the hands of Topps, and they’re not wasting any time making their presence felt. After reclaiming the official license from Panini, the 2025-26 Topps Premier League Soccer release marks the brand’s full-fledged return to English football. And they’re doing it big, with a packed checklist, colorful parallels, and a wave-style release that hits retail, hobby shops, and collectors everywhere.
This set is more than just a base product — it’s a signal that Topps is picking up right where they left off, with new tech, exclusive editions, and insert concepts that tap into everything fans love about the sport.

Staggered Release, Global Rollout

Topps is launching the set in stages to build momentum across regions. Retail boxes land in the United Kingdom first on August 7, followed by an international retail launch on August 21. Hobby boxes arrive on September 17 with added hits and chase content.
There’s also a bit of holiday fun planned. A 24-pack Countdown Calendar edition drops September 2, offering exclusive festive-themed parallels, while a Golden Boot tin follows on October 2 with its own unique content. Expect more specialty tins and multi-pack formats to show up throughout the season.
Every card includes a QR code on the back that connects collectors to a new interactive hub — a move that adds a layer of digital connectivity to the traditional collecting experience.

Set Size and Structure

The main player checklist features 14 players from each of the Premier League’s 20 clubs, giving the base set a total of 280 cards. Add in the subset cards and the full checklist grows to 450 cards.
Parallel colors are a major part of the release, and there are over a dozen different variations across formats:
  • Retail packs include Blue (1 in 2), Yellow (1 in 4), and Green (1 in 8), plus Sparkle parallels ranging from Aqua /499 down to Platinum /1
  • Counter display boxes (28-pack format) feature Holo parallels from Aqua /499 to Red /5
  • Hobby boxes offer Rainbow-style parallels ranging from Blue /150 to Foilfractor one-of-ones
Subset cards show up in every retail pack, with three guaranteed per pack. Two will usually come from one of the more common themes like:
  • Generation Now
  • Tekkers
  • Retro Threads
  • Pro Partnership
  • Full Force
The third subset slot is reserved for more selective lines like:
  • Beast Mode
  • Headliners
  • Pro Precision
All of these sets feature multiple parallel colors as well, adding depth to the rip experience.

Insert Lineup

Topps is leaning hard into inserts this year, especially for the retail market. Some are easy to find, others are much tougher, and all bring variety to the set.
  • Chrome Kings appears once every 10 packs and showcases one all-time great from each club on chromium card stock. Certain tins will include Gemstone versions of these, like Emerald, Diamond (/25), Black Diamond (/10), and Ruby (/5)
  • Gold Lion falls one in every 28 packs and highlights a top player from each team with gold accents and a large Premier League lion logo
  • Premier Pulls (1:100) and Diamond Rookies (1:500) are the most elusive, with the latter being a 10-card chase set of top young players
Other insert themes announced so far include:
  • Golden Boot
  • Goal Machine
  • Hall of Fame
  • Home Advantage
  • Heat Vision
  • Perfect Storm
  • Full Throttle
  • Pro Partnership (separate from the subset version)

Autographs

While autographs aren’t the main focus in retail, they’re still available — just a little harder to find. Base autos drop about once in every 168 packs, and those signatures come in multiple parallel tiers from /499 down to true one-of-ones. Some insert sets also feature signed versions, including:
  • Beast Mode
  • Chrome Kings
  • Black Edition
Hobby boxes step it up by guaranteeing at least one autograph along with two other hits, four numbered parallels, and two Chrome Kings inserts. That makes hobby the go-to format for anyone chasing ink or premium content.
