2023-24 Bowman Chrome University Basketball showcases a new crop of NIL athletes, including some of the earliest licensed collegiate cards of several big-name prospects. However, it’s the inclusion of an all-time great’s autograph that is bound to garner the most attention.
The base set has 100 cards, virtually all of which are currently enrolled in NCAA schools. Only six are making a second-year Bowman appearance. The rest are “1sts” and noted as such. Highlights include Bronny James, Angel Reese and Paige Bueckers.
Collectors can look for a Refractor rainbow of more than a dozen different colors.
Ten players also have SSP Image Variations.
2023-24 Bowman Chrome University Basketball hobby boxes come with a pair of autographs.
Chrome Prospect Autographs make up the majority of these. Like the main set, there are 100 different players.
Footsteps Dual Autographs are where the major chase is found. Just one card is on the checklist, pairing Bronny James with his father, LeBron James. It’s more notable that simply offering a LeBron autograph. This is actually the first non-Upper Deck certified autograph card he’s ever signed. The NBA’s all-time leading scorer previously had an exclusive deal with Upper Deck dating back to 2003.
Prime Choice Signatures are another standalone autograph insert.
