2023-24 Panini Haunted Hoops puts a spooky — and affordable — twist on basketball cards. Okay, they are unlikely to give collectors nightmares, but they do embrace the Halloween spirit.
Like the similar Score-A-Treat Football and Pokemon Halloween packs, Haunted Hoops is intended to be an alternative to candy corn, mini bags of M&Ms, suckers and other pieces of classic Halloween candy. Each pack includes a trio of holiday-themed cards loosely based on 2023-24 Hoops Basketball.
A set build is actually attached to the product, though with 300 total cards. It breaks down to 279 regular cards and a 21-card Rising Stars subset. And in case you’re wondering, Victor Wembanyama has both a standard base card and a Rising Stars card.
Despite the simple build, Panini has still managed to work some additional parallels onto the checklist. Versions include Orange, Slime, Holo Webs and Holo Candy.
Packs are meant to be cheap with 40-pack bundles running less than $25 at retail. Larger 90-pack bundles are also available —for those destination Halloween neighborhoods, of course.
