2023-24 Panini PhotoGenic Basketball is a snap. Returning for a third year as an online-exclusive release, the focus is on photography. Think Panini’s answer to Stadium Club only with some twists of their own.
Available originally only through the card maker’s website, 10-pack hobby boxes promise an autograph, three inserts and three parallels.
The base set has the usual mix of past and present stars plus 50 rookies. However, this time around design elements are kept to a minimum. Photography anchors the action and emotion in a way seldom seen on basketball cards. Rookies are short prints, landing three per box.
Parallels include Silver, Diamond (/75), Wedges (/49), Maze (/25), Gold (/10), Fireworks (/5) and Platinum (1/1).
Veteran Autographs and Rookie Autographs offer a basic path to signatures that stick with the image focus.
Burst Rate Signatures are a new addition to the checklist.
For those wanting multiple signatures, there are Dual Autographs with different combinations of players.
