2023-24 SP Game Used Hockey might have memorabilia in its name, but there’s more to the checklist than just jerseys and sticks. From a scarce base set to event-specific relics, it puts a different spin on the hockey card season.
Hobby boxes are kept small with just six cards. Of those, one is either an autograph or a premium memorabilia card. Collectors will also find three more memorabilia cards or premium inserts.
SP Game Used Hockey has one of the most challenging base sets in the hobby. It’s so tough that it’s likely that nobody even attempts to put together the entire thing. Consisting of 200 total cards, each standard card is numbered to the player’s jersey number. That means an absolute maximum of 99 copies, although many can dip down to a handful or even lower. It’s a mix of veterans, legends and 80 Authentic Rookies.
For vets and legends, parallels include Red (/299), Gold (/199), Purple (/5) and Green (1/1). It’s a little more complicated with the rookies. Red are 200 plus their age while Gold are 100 plus their draft year. Crystal versions (/25) join Purple (/5) and Green (1/1).
Select base cards at all levels of the checklist also have a variety of jersey, premium memorabilia, autograph, and autographed memorabilia versions.
A lot of times you don’t know where the swatches in a memorabilia card come from. 2023-24 SP Game Used Hockey has some where that’s not the case.
The 2023 NHL Global Series, Stadium Series, and Winter Classic all have separate Fabrics sets that have pieces in conjunction the special games. Patch (/35), Tag (/3) and Logo Patch (1/1) versions are also available.
Net cord from the 2023 Stanley Cup Finals, All-Star Game, All-Star Skills Competition and Winter Classic can be found. Base versions have 35 copies with scarce Gold parallels (/5).
