Product Overview

2023-24 Topps Finest Basketball sees the card maker continue to reintroduce their hoops portfolio. The chromium release was resurrected in 2021 albeit with an all-retired checklist. Finest has also appeared more recently with Overtime Elite prospects. This time around, it might not be licensed by the NBA (which means no logos or trademarks) but it does have licensing from the Players Association. Like Finest sets from the past, there’s plenty of pop in the designs. Being a modern chrome product, there are lots of Refractors and inserts as well. The 300-card base set is broken up into three different tiers: Common, Uncommon (one per pack) and Rare (1:3 packs). This may seem a lot like how Select Basketball is today but there was also a time when Finest was doing it more than 20 years ago. Parallels take on similar colors and forms at all three levels with a variety of color-based Refractors as well as some Checkerboard and Die-Cut versions. Breaker boxes are the exclusive home to Geometric parallels. Signatures are available in four different sets: Finest Autographs, Rookie Finest Autographs, Masters Autographs and Flashback Autographs. Signers are a mix of veterans, rookies and legends from the past. One advantage Topps does have is that they have access to Fanatics-exclusive signers. That means some more autographs from Victor Wembanyama as well as LeBron James. Arrivals, Debut, Showstoppers and Finishers are among the more common inserts on the 2023-24 Topps Finest Basketball checklist. These all have 10 levels of parallels to go with the base versions.
