Product Overview

If you’ve been collecting for a long time — or have at any point since the mid ’90 — then you’re probably familiar with the Elite line. 2023 Donruss Elite WWE marks the first time it has appeared as a standalone professional wrestling set, though. Boasting a lot of similar elements as recent Elite basketball and football releases, the checklist covers a lot of ground with autographs, inserts and parallels. Hobby boxes have a pair of signatures. A total of 150 cards make up the Elite base set. Within that is a split between 100 current WWE stars and 50 retired Legends. Elite has long been big on parallels. Versions here include Blue, Purple, Orange, Teal, Gold, Black and Razzle Dazzle. Cornerstones Aspirations and Status Die-Cuts are also part of the checklist. One of the most iconic autograph inserts in the hobby gets its first pass in the wrestling ring. Passing the Torch Signatures are double-sided dual autographs that typically showcase two different generations of athletes. Elite Signatures and Pen Pals are among the other places to find autographs. Family plays a big role in multiple storylines right now. Some of those connections, both past and present, are the subject of Family Lineage. Spellbound takes a bit of a different approach. While collectors can go after the complete set, there’s also smaller runs they can go after as they spell out a star’s name one card at a time. Powerhouses is another insert set.
