The 2023 Panini Select Football checklist is big and colorful. Chrome is the centerpiece once again, opening things up for all sorts of parallels. Things grow exponentially when the various levels of the base set are taken into account. It’s not just base cards and parallels, though. Autographs, memorabilia cards and a generous assortment of inserts are also part of the wide-reaching release.
As far as hobby box hits go, there are two autographs and one memorabilia card. Parallels are also plentiful, combining to fall 15 per box.
The full Select base set has 500 cards, matching 2022. It’s not quite so straightforward, though. It has five different sections, each with varying levels of rarity and mix of parallels. With some players appearing multiple times, it makes for a lot of cards to chase.
Among Select’s autograph content are some that also include memorabilia. Prime Selections and Rookie Jumbo Swatches are two such sets, both with oversized pieces of gear.
Taking from the base set’s vibe, standard inserts also take different levels of rarity. For those looking for the toughest sets, Color Wheel and new-to-football Starcade are among them. There’s also Select Anniversary.
One thing that Select Football continues to have that the brand doesn’t use in other sports is XRC Redemptions. These are good for players from the 2023 NFL Draft.
