2023 Topps Motif Football makes its debut with a checklist that’s mostly retired stars but with some additional rookie drawing power. It’s a super-premium product with six autographs per hobby box — all on-card except for a very small number of cuts. Art is the running theme with the end result being something of a hybrid in look between Topps’ Inception line and Panini’s Impeccable.
While the vast majority of cards in Motif are autographs, there is still a base set. With just one standard card per box, it’s not going to be an easy build. Even locating a specific card over time might become somewhat tough.

Similar to 2023 Topps Composite Football, legends dominate the checklist as far as quantity goes. However, a handful of rookie quarterbacks are also in the mix including Fanatics exclusive C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young. Also like Composite, this product is not licensed by the NFL as Panini continues to have the exclusive. That means no team logos or trademarks.
The 2023 Topps Motif Football checklist has a lot of different autographed insert sets, each taking a slightly different approach to art as its anchor. Themes include Acrylic Drip, Aquarelle Autographs, Canvas Champions, Gallery, Gridiron Legends, Headline Signatures, Motif Endorsements, and Virtuoso Marks.
All of these have similar parallel lineups with Ultramarine Blue (/20), Cadium Orange (/10), Winsor Green (/8), Pyrrol Scarlet (/5), Printing Plates (1/1) and Quin Gold (1/1).
Gridiron Legends also have dual and triple signed cards. Pyrrol Scarlet (/5) and Quin Gold (1/1) are the long parallels for these.
Top-name freshman are the only players to have autographed memorabilia cards in the product. Four different sets are available for these, each differentiated by the number of swatches. They range from one to four pieces of gear. Versions include:
