Product Overview

2023 Upper Deck Thor: Love and Thunder trading cards look to have lightning strike once again for the fourth film in the Marvel franchise. Although key autographs have been part of the series from the beginning, according to Upper Deck, another big name is joining the overall list. The varied checklist includes lots of chase elements that go beyond signatures including Precious Metal Gems and other retro-themed inserts. Things start with a 100-card base set. With it arriving so long after the film’s release, spoilers should not be a concern here. Besides the standard recap, there are 20 Ensemble cards that highlight both characters and the actors who play them. Silver parallels are one per pack. Other versions include Hammer Die-Cut, Red (/99), Gold (/10) and Black and White (/5). Red (/5) and Gold (1/1) Autographs can also be found for select Ensemble cards. Chris Hemsworth, who has played Thor for more than a decade, has been a consistent signer over the years. According to Upper Deck, his autograph is back. Joining him is Oscar winner Natalie Portman who saw her role in the franchise grow immensely in this film. Among the themes is Mighty Graphs, which has standard, Horizontal, Dual and Triple versions. Friends from Work Autographs, Powered Up Autographs and Ensemble Autographs are some of the other places to find ink from the movie’s stars. Among the premium inserts on the checklist is a fresh crop of Precious Metal Gems Magenta cards. Scoring Gods draw their inspiration from 1993-94 Ultra Basketball’s Scoring Kings inserts.
