Get ready to pass go once again. 2024-25 Panini Prizm Monopoly Basketball marks the third NBA release for the trading card-board game mash-up. Once again, the Prizm foundation is there with shiny cards, unique parallels and Monopoly-themed spins on some familiar aspects. The product also doubles as a basketball version of the iconic game. The third edition of Prizm Monopoly is an expansion that builds off of the original from the 2022-23 season. That said, a starter game is also available that has everything needed to get playing. Available separately, blasters are basically booster packs. As far as the checklist goes, one of the noticeable differences this time around is that it’s not just rookies and veterans. Legends are also in the mix, bringing some big names from the past. Like any set under the Prizm name, there are lots of parallels. Many combine color with Monopoly symbols or iconography with versions like Boardwalk Blue Tiger Stripe, Running Mr. Monopoly and Go. Each blaster box sold directly by Panini includes one Free Parking parallel. While collectors won’t find autographs, there are some tough chase inserts as well. Black Money Blast and White Money Blast both return, offering a different spin on Panini’s popular Color Blast cards. Millionaire White inserts are another scarcity. 2024-25 Panini Prizm Monopoly has some of the first cards of Luka Doncic in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform. That said, they’re not in packs. Those who ordered a full case of blaster boxes from Panini’s website received either a Free Parking parallel, Millionaire White or Black Money Blast card of the superstar. Another recent expansion for Prizm Monopoly saw the line shift into the WNBA.
