2024-25 Upper Deck Engrained Icons Hockey sticks to the past. Like previous Engrained releases, hockey sticks are the core theme on the checklist. This time around, though, it’s an all-retired release covering some of the NHL’s stars and greats of yesteryear.
Engrained Icons comes with a high-end configuration with three total autographs or memorabilia cards in every six-card hobby box.
2024-25 Upper Deck Engrained Icons Hockey Checklist Overview
The 100-card base set is looks back on past generations with a design that has modern lines and a wood motif. Standard parallels have a refreshingly modest three levels, all of which stick with the wood theme: Ebony (/199), Mahogany (/75) and Rosewood (1/1).
Select cards also have autographed versions with their own Ebony (/49 or less), Mahogany (/10 or less) and Rosewood (/5 or less) versions.
Cuts of Class (1:3 packs) is one of several places to find pieces of game-used sticks. Gold parallels are numbered to 49. The theme carries over to Duals (/49), Triples (/25) and Quads (/10) with multiple players. These also have Gold versions, which top out at 25 copies for Duals, 15 for Triples and 5 for Quads.
Remnants is another place for game-used memorabilia. The checklist for these takes a tiered structure with cards numbered to 100 or less, 25 or fewer for Gold parallels.
Stick tape and a VHS tape design come together for Highlight Tapes, which have single (/35) and dual (/25) versions as well as Gold (/10) parallels.
Other memorabilia sets include Complete Sticks (/49), Rough Cuts (/49) and Stickside Splinters (/25).
Complete Sticks also get the autograph treatment (/25).
Distinguishing Marks, Stick Nameplates and Dual Stick Nameplates are all one-of-ones.
It’s not the the players that are part of the past. Beehive Portrait Signatures draws inspiration from one of the hockey hobby’s top vintage lines. Base versions land approximately every other pack. Red Ink parallels are numbered to 5.
The only standard inserts on the checklist are Carved in Time. Numbered to 100, these are done on wood stock. Autograph versions are 1:750 packs.
