2024 Donruss Baseball looks forward and back with a checklist that highlights greats from the past, prospects and other young standouts. It’s a similar theme for the cards themselves, which bring both a retro aesthetic and modern technology.
There’s a lot going on in every box including three total autographs and memorabilia cards. Collectors will also find multiple inserts or parallels in every pack as well.
The main base set puts a lot of focus on baseball’s future. With Rated Rookies off the board, things shift to Rated Prospects. It lacks the alliteration but it goes a similar route highlighting top young talent, they’re just still working their way towards the majors.
In addition to regular parallels, base cards get an Optic makeover. It’s similar to how Bowman and Bowman Chrome are often packaged together. The Optic rainbow has several colors include Blue Velocity, Gold Velocity and Black Finite.
Signature Series takes an all-encompassing approach with its list of signers, both past and present.
Jersey Kings and Retro 1984 Materials are among the places to find memorabilia cards.
When it comes to standard inserts, boldly designed Bomb Squad, Diamond Marvels and Unleashed all return.
There’s also the big head-inspired Whammy, a short print insert set.
