2024 Panini Contenders Football is the ticket-themed, autograph-heavy release that it has been for more than two decades. While collectors shouldn’t expect a ton of surprises this time around, it is by design. Contenders is one of those modern brands that has built a history. As such, there’s tradition that requires more subtle evolution rather than major overhauls each year. Hobby boxes give the highest concentration of autographs in the product. Each as four, at least one of which has an on-card signature. Like usual, the Contenders base set uses distinct ticket-inspired designs. Standard cards fall under the Season Ticket banner with many of the parallels spinning directly out of the theme. Some are standard colors but they’re joined by others like Playoff Ticket and Ticket Stub, which are die-cut. Many of the rookies get the autograph treatment. Historically, Contenders has been home to some of a players’ most popular RCs. The “Contenders” concept plays out in some of the product’s signatures. These include Contenders Autographs and Legendary Contenders Autographs. Ink returns with an all-encompassing approach to signatures. Some of the standard inserts, which combine with parallels to land 10 per hobby box, include Supernatural, Superstar Die Cuts and Crown Jewels.
