2024 Topps Chrome Sapphire Update Series Baseball puts some shine on the flagship Update release. It’s a premium upgrade that condenses the overall checklist but still delivers plenty of rookies and rarities.

Hobby boxes promise not only an autograph but three numbered parallels as well.

The 350-card base set follows the path of regular Update Series (but not 2024 Topps Chrome Update Series). Rookie Cards of Paul Skenes and Jackson Holliday are among the highlights on the 2024 Topps Chrome Sapphire Update Series Baseball checklist. There’s also the expansive Rookie Debut subset that highlights the first MLB games from lots of the top names over the last year.

Everything gets the Sapphire treatment with a blue color motif and additional background pattern. The stock is also an upgrade from flagship with cards done on chromium.

Parallels are numbered to 50 and under with Gold Sapphire (/50), Orange Sapphire (/25), Black Sapphire (/10) and Red Sapphire (/5). Cards also have either a Padparadscha Sapphire or Superfractor version that’s a one-of-one. In past years, players with Chrome Update Superfractors get Padparadscha parallels in Sapphire and cards that aren’t in Chrome Update get Superfractors.

Chrome Sapphire Autographs are all rookies. Just 32 signers are on the checklist including Skenes, Holliday, Elly De La Cruz and Jackson Merrill. Six levels of parallels are available for these:

Sapphire Selections, exclusive to this release, are the only other inserts. A total of 15 cards are available with numbering carrying on from 2024 Topps Chrome Sapphire Baseball. These are tough, landing 1:80 packs, or approximately one per case. Besides a handful of parallels, select cards also have autographs.
