Product Overview

2024 Topps Spotlight Baseball sees Andy Friedman’s watercolor artwork return for a third set of cards — and for the first time since 2022. Like the previous two releases, this one has Friedman offer his own interpretation of existing baseball cards, only with an artistic spin. Boxes are available in two configurations. Standard boxes come with four packs of seven cards. Collectors boxes have a dozen packs and promise both an autograph and either an original piece of art or a parallel numbered to 5 or less. The base set has 100 cards. Both active and retired players are featured with Friedman using existing cards as inspiration for his artwork. This includes both the poses and the layouts. However, with the artist’s style and watercolors, the end result is much more than the usual reprints or re-imaginings found in a lot of Topps products. Parallels include: Collectors box-exclusive premium parallels are numbered to either 5, 3 or 1. These come already encased in a holder. Base Autographs add sticker signatures to the mix. These have their own Spotlight Stamp (/75), Grayscale (/49), Topps Logo Laminate (/25), Canvas Stock (/10), Rainbow Foil (/5) and Gold Foil (1/1) versions. Five 2024 Rookie Pairings Short Prints (1:11 packs) have a pair of this season’s freshmen done on old designs. The checklist also has eight Alternate Reference Short Prints (1:10 packs) that use different art work. Two insert sets play off of players’ baseball card beginnings and endings.
