Extensive Collection of Vintage Sports Cards and Notre Dame Memorabilia Featured in Huggins & Scott's Fall Auction

The Huggins & Scott Fall Catalog Auction, featuring a remarkable assortment of over 1,400 items, is currently underway. The auction is headlined by a selection of vintage cards and Notre Dame football memorabilia, including a PSA 5 1909 T204 Ramly Walter Johnson card and a signed photo of Notre Dame legend George Gipp. Additionally, the auction introduces the first part of an extensive autograph collection, slated to expand in 2024.

Key highlights from the auction include Notre Dame football items from the Arthur “Dutch” Bergman Collection, showcasing over a century of history with team photos dating back to the early 1900s. The auction also offers a variety of vintage and modern sports cards, among them a 1928 Tharp’s Ice Cream Babe Ruth and a 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle Rookie card.

The Gainesville Autograph Collection presents a vast array of autographs from both sports and non-sporting figures. It includes a near-complete 1957 Topps set, rookie cards of Hank Aaron and Jim Brown, and thousands of signatures covering nearly a century of notable personalities.

Other notable items in the auction are a 1961-1962 Fleer Basketball Jerry West Rookie card, a 1980-1981 Topps Basketball Unopened Wax Box, and a unique 2021 Topps Transcendent Baseball Walter Johnson Cut Signature Box Topper. Additionally, a Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig dual-signed baseball and a complete set of the 1938 R69 Gum Inc. Horrors of War with high number key cards are up for grabs.

Ron Oser, Huggins & Scott’s Vice President & Director of Consignments, expresses excitement over the auction’s diverse offerings, which cater to a wide range of interests, including both sports and non-sport items. The auction, concluding on December 7, promises to be a highlight event for collectors and enthusiasts, with initial bids closing at 9 PM ET.
