The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have made a significant recovery of stolen sports memorabilia in British Columbia, retrieving items worth over $50,000. The investigation reveals a recent pattern of thefts from storage units, and officials suspect there may be more undiscovered victims.

In a recent operation, RCMP officers in Coquitlam, British Columbia, managed to recover a substantial collection of sports memorabilia stolen from several storage units. This collection, valued at over $50,000, includes dozens of valuable pieces such as autographed jerseys, photographs, and helmets.

The discovery followed a series of investigative leads stemming from multiple reports of break-ins at local storage facilities. RCMP Corporal Alexa Hodgins commended the officers involved, stating, "Through the exceptional work by our officers, they were able to piece together several reports of break and enters to recover some of the stolen property.”

The RCMP has expressed concerns that there might be additional victims, as storage unit thefts often go unnoticed for long periods due to infrequent checks by unit owners. As a result, they are urging people in the area to inspect their storage spaces and report any irregularities.

The incident highlights the ongoing issue of security at storage facilities and the need for more stringent measures to protect valuable items stored within these units. The RCMP continues to investigate the situation, hoping to return recovered items to their rightful owners and prevent future thefts.
